Your one stop guide to a festive kitchen this Christmas!

Your one stop guide to a festive kitchen this Christmas!

With the holiday season soon upon us, it’s time to pull the Christmas decorations out of storage and bring the family together to decorate the tree and string some fairy lights. It's no question that we all love the idea of a festive home, but when it comes to the kitchen, no one wants to compromise on space and efficiency!

The kitchen for many is the heart of the home, a place to host parties, get togethers, and most importantly, where we cook our Christmas dinner. Because of this, it is important to remember useability when decorating this space over the festive season.

These top tips will help you have your kitchen feeling merry in no time, with plenty of space for Christmas cooking!

Make Use of Tables and Islands

Tables and kitchen Islands are great at giving us some spare space in the kitchen, they can be used as an extra worktop for food prep or to lay our snacks, but also as a place to decorate without taking up valuable worktop space near your appliances.

A Christmas centrepiece is a great way to add a pop of festivity to the room or even a freshly decorated gingerbread house that can be tucked into later on.

Don’t Overlook Smaller Decorations and Ornaments

It’s pretty obvious that smaller decorations take up less space, but these ornaments are perfect to display next to your favourite recipe books and picture frames on any open shelving or decorative corners!

And why not add a touch of the Christmas tree to the room with some faux leaf garlands draped on the top of kitchen cupboards or shelves?

Decorate With Food

Christmas themed snacks are found in almost every home this time of year, instead of hiding these in cupboards, use them to decorate!

Do you have some mugs or bowls on display? Fill these with individually wrapped candy canes for a pop of colour and festivity, or some cinnamon sticks to add a lovely smell to the room.

Or a glass cookie jar? Why not replace your custard creams and hobnobs for some gingerbread men?

Stick To A Theme

Last but not least, you’ll want to stick to one theme with your decorations, this will stop the room from looking cluttered and will allow you to continue using your space as usual.

And most importantly, enjoy decorating!
