This may sound odd but is probably one of the best tips out there. If you want cooking to be done fast and well then be efficient in your movements and preparation. Don’t waste a second!
Add vinegar to boiled eggs to help them peel
Sure, you may be aware that adding some vinegar to egg poaching water helps coagulate the white. But are you aware that adding vinegar to the water when boiling eggs helps you remove the shell easier? Solve the tiny egg shard crisis once and for all.
Use a pizza cutter to cut dough into shapes
Forget fancy shaped cutters or the time spent fiddling with a knife, use a pizza cutter in order to cut those intricate shapes. The cutter helps you cut any shape in fluid ease.
Freeze any herbs that are about to go off
Large hard herbs can be frozen entirely so that when you go to use them they will naturally crumble to pieces, eliminating your need to cut them up.
Make juicy lemons with the help of a microwave
Skip the disappointment of hard lemons by microwaving them for 20-30 seconds. This releases their inner juices. Don’t do it for too long though, you can dry the lemon out!
Make your own bread!
Run out of bread constantly? Well if your desperate you can make your own with plain flour. Simply add one mug of plain flour along with 1-2 teaspoons of live oil per person. Next, slowly add cold water until you get a soft dough which leaves the bowl clean. Roll the dough into balls then dry fry in a non-stick pan. It won’t take long and is a great alternative!
Boil the kettle when peeling shallots
Tiny Shallots can be a pain in the backside to peel. Luckily, we’ve found a solution. Simply cover them in boiling water to loosen the skin, making the whole process 10 times easier.
