In it’s second appearance on ITV’s 60 Minute Makeover, Dream Doors, the UK’s largest kitchen facelift franchise, was involved in another dramatic transformation – this time a celebrity special.
Coronation Street’s Beverley Callard asked the 60 Minute Makeover team to help after she visited a special school in Manchester that helps students with learning difficulties.
The episode – aired in October – saw 60 Minute Makeover designer John Amabile and a host of support acts create new and exciting places for the students to learn in and play – plus areas for the staff to relax in. More than 150 people got involved in making the transformation happen…and companies donated nearly £100,000 of specialist equipment, new furniture and kitchens!
The local Dream Doors branch brought in stunning high gloss kitchen doors, granite worktops and splashbacks for the staff room as well as being on hand to help with all the installations.
Headteacher Hilary Moon joined Bev in surprising the students and staff and said of the result: “We are so delighted with the makeover – the first morning back after filming the staff and students didn’t get any work done they were so excited!”
Dream Doors were proud to support the school, providing a little comfort for the staff during their breaks.
Dream Doors has featured three times on 60 Minute Makeover so far. Other Dream Doors branches have featured in separate episodes of the hit ITV series. Once again, Dream Doors Ltd head office generously donated replacement kitchen doors, cupboards, splashbacks and a sink. The franchisees gave up their time to help with some heavy lifting and to complete a stunning kitchen facelift in just 60 minutes!
